Sean Huiet begins his third season with the Bobcat volleyball program after helping guide Texas State to its third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years. He handles setters and liberos, team travel arrangements, tape exchange, scouting opponents, equipment and the Maroon and Gold Diggers club.
Prior to Texas State, Huiet spent four seasons at Bowling Green, his alma mater. He first served as a student assistant from 2000-02 before being elevated to assistant coach in 2003. The Falcons won 21 matches in each of his first two years with the program.
Huiet left Bowling Green to take an assistant's position at Indiana State in 2004 but returned after one season.
His additional coaching experience includes six different club teams in the Bowling Green area over a seven-year span. One of his teams, the Premier Volleyball Club in Toledo, Ohio, won two regional championships with Huiet. He also earned playing experience while a student at Bowling Green as a libero and setter for the Falcon men's club team. Bowling Green had a pair of top 25 finishes at nationals, and Huiet was named First-Team All-Conference in 2003 after leading the Falcons to a ninth place finish at nationals.
Huiet received his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Bowling Green in 2003. He is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and the son of Tom and Maggie Collet and Tommy Huiet. He is also one of five siblings.
