SAN MARCOS - The Texas State netters blanked Nicholls State 7-0 on Sunday morning at the Texas State Tennis Complex to win its fourth game in five tries and finish 5-5 in the Southland Conference.

Texas State and three other teams are battling for the sixth and final spot in the Southland Conference Tournament, which will not be determined for another week.

The Bobcats have finished up their 2006 spring schedule, but there are still several teams that have three or more games remaining.

The `Cats took the doubles point with ease and then cruised to straight-set victories in singles to pick up the shutout win over the Lady Colonels.

Texas State will now await its postseason destiny.
