SAN ANTONIO - Texas State University opened Southland Conference play with a 5-1 loss to Texas-San Antonio Tuesday.

With the loss, Texas State fell to 2-7 overall. UTSA is now 5-2.

UTSA began the dual by winning two of three doubles matches. Texas State's lone doubles win came at No. 3 where Natalie McLeod teamed up with Christina Amo for an 8-4 win over Ana Paula Soto and Nathalie Wallin.

Amo was also the Bobcats' lone winner in singles competition, defeating Monica Drabkova 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3.

Texas State returns to action Saturday when the Bobcats travel to Louisiana-Monroe.
