COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The middle of Texas State's singles lineup all scored victories, including a three-set win by Leja Sirola at No. 3 as the Bobcats defeated the Air Force Academy 4-3 Sunday.

The win was Texas State's first dual victory of the season as the Bobcats improved to 1-5. Air Force is now 3-7.

Texas State got on the board first, winning the doubles point. Ashley Ellis and Lainy Chafitz teamed to defeat Kat Bushey and Christine Abayan 8-5 at No. 1 doubles while Sirola and Jana Cucciniello teamed for an 8-2 win over Lauren Wilson and Meghan Kiser at No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, Sirola posted a 6-0, 2-6, 6-4 win over Wilson. The Bobcats also got singles wins from Christina Amo at No. 4 singles and Sumarie Muller at No. 5 singles.

Texas State returns home to take on St. Edward's Thursday. Doubles play will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Texas State Tennis Complex.
