LAS CRUCES, N.M. - A day after returning home from a 4-1 outing at the Troy Cox Classic, three Texas State student-athletes were named to the all-tournament team for their performances this past weekend in Las Cruces, N.M.

For the second time this season, Texas State represented the university well by landing three on the all-tournament roster in a tournament that hosted six teams and about 100 student-athletes.

Among the three selected were senior pitcher Katie Ann Trahan, freshman catcher Karen Taylor and senior first baseman, Kristen Gunter.

Trahan (4-2) improved her team-best ERA to 0.78 over the weekend with 15 strikeouts and only two earned runs in 13 innings of work for the Bobcats. Trahan also recorded her third shutout of the year.

In her first season with the Bobcats, Taylor has the team's third-best batting average at .385, leads the team in doubles with four and has a team-best .630 slugging percentage. This is Taylor's second all-tournament selection of the year.

Gunter, who is in her last year with the Bobcats, batted .429 on the weekend with four RBIs. Gunter has the team's second-best batting average at .406, is tied for first on the team with seven RBIs and also has two home runs on the season.

Texas State (8-5) will continue its road trip Feb. 24-26 when they take on Rhode Island, Houston, BYU, Wichita State and Iowa State in the Crowne Plaza Classic in Houston.
