SAN MARCOS - Jetta Weinheimer went 3-for-3 with two home runs, including one as part of back-to-back-to-back long balls in the second inning as Texas State softball (26-24, 15-12) closed out its home season with a 12-0 win over McNeese State (28-29, 14-10) on Sunday.

Leah Boatright and Karen Taylor also went yard as the 12 runs tied a season high, and the four home runs hit were the most this season by Bobcat hitters in a single game.

Texas State struck immediately in the bottom of the first when Boatright lined an RBI double into the left field corner to make it 1-0. Weinheimer followed with a deep drive over the wall in left center off Cowgirl starter Cori Bram to make it 4-0.

The `Cats weren't done hitting balls out of the park though, as Bram ran into more trouble in the second. Taylor launched a three-run homer to left, and Boatright and Weinheimer followed suit to give Texas State three straight home runs.

Three more runs would score in the fourth, this time on a wild pitch, a bases-loaded walk and an RBI groundout.

Ragan Blake kept McNeese State hitters at bay, recording a strikeout for each of the final five outs and completing her ninth shutout of the season with a two-hit, seven-strikeout performance. Blake improved to 21-13 on the year and snapped a three game losing streak.

Bram took the loss to fall to 5-13. She allowed nine earned runs in two innings on six hits and three walks.

After the game, Texas State seniors Heather Ackley, Chelsea Giroux, Haley Koop, Amy Krueger and Sarah Lancour were honored as part of Senior Day.

The Bobcats conclude their 2007 regular season with a series at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on May 5-6. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday before the regular season finale on Sunday.
