SAN MARCOS - Texas State will take on I-35 rival Texas-San Antonio to close out its three-game home-stand Sunday. This will be the first game in a week for the `Cats after Sunday's 2-1, double-overtime loss to Stephen F. Austin.

UTSA (4-7-2; 2-1-1 SLC) comes off a week's rest as well, after two home games against SFA and Sam Houston State. The Roadrunners were able to hold SFA to a scoreless tie on Friday and shut out the Bearkats 3-0 in its Sunday decision.

Leading scorers for the `Cats include freshmen Lindsey Curry, sophomores Andrea Seledee and Lindsay Tippit and senior Jerelyn Lemmie. Curry contributes 12 points to the team with two assists and five goals. Curry was the lone netter against SFA, scoring in the final five minutes of regulation off an assist from Seledee. This was one of three assists for Seledee, who has also scored two goals this season, giving her a seven-point total for the year. Both Tippit and Lemmie have scored twice this season, giving them both four points.

Offensively, Texas State has established themselves as a first-half team, scoring nine of their 15 goals in the first period of regulation. The Bobcats have failed to score in post regulation frames despite six shots on goal in three dropped overtime decisions.

The `Cats longest defensive shut down spanned just under 400 minutes, beginning Sept. 23 and ending with the 2-1 loss against Stephen F. Austin last Sunday. `Cats defender Marty Wright has been honored for her role on the squad, receiving SLC Defensive Player of the Week honors during the opening week of league play. Goalies Amanda Byrd and Mandi Mawyer have both seen time blocking the net, combining for 79 saves this season.

Veronica Najera is the leading scorer for UTSA, recording six goals and one assist for the season. Freshman Alli Dillon is making strides as well, tallying two goals and one assist in the Roadrunners' shut out against Sam Houston State.

The Roadrunners fielded their first team to compete in the Southland Conference last season and played Texas State to a 2-2 overtime tie in the teams' first meeting.
