Marilyn Smith Sunflower Classic Results

Manhattan, Kan. - Texas State freshman Linn Gustafsson tied for fourth while the Bobcats finished five strokes back of team champion Kansas at the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Classic hosted by Kansas State this week.

Tuesday's final round was cancelled due to weather.

Kansas shot a two-round score of 600 to win the team title. Missouri was second after carding a two-round score of 602 while the Bobcats are tied with Kansas State after shooting 605s.

Gustafsson rebounded from a 75 for Monday's opening round to shoot an even-par 72 Monday afternoon. Her two-round score of 147 was four strokes off the tournament lead held by Missouri's Julia Potter.

Texas State freshman Trine Mortensen shot a 74 during Monday morning's round but carded a 78 during the afternoon and tied for 17th.

Texas State returns to action Oct. 15-17, taking part in the Price's Give Em Five Intercollegiate at New Mexico State.
