Lamar Cardinal Invitational Day 1 Results

BEAUMONT - Texas State freshman Jennifer Crawford fired a second-round score of 75 to move into a tie for fourth as the Bobcats concluded the first day of the Lamar Cardinal Invitational at Brentwood Country Club.

Crawford shot an 80 during the opening round of the tournament Monday but came back to move into a three-way tie for fourth during the afternoon round. The Sugar Land native is eight strokes back of the individual leader after carding a two-round score of 155.

Crawford led three Texas State golfers who are among the top 10 after the second round of the tournament. The `Cats shot a two-round score of 626 and are 15 strokes behind first-place Lamar and two strokes ahead of Texas-San Antonio.

Southland Conference members Sam Houston State and Louisiana-Monroe are currently in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Texas State returners Danielle Mask and Anessa Thompson both shot two-round scores of 156 and will begin Tuesday's final round in a six-way tie for seventh.

Atop the leader board, Centenary's Jessica Garza currently has a one-stroke lead over UTSA's Laura Baker after carding a three-over 147 after two rounds.
