Lake Charles, LA - The Texas State women's golf team saw highs and lows after concluding the first day of the Southland Conference Championships, and with a two-round score of 615 the team is fifth place at the Lake Charles Country Club.

Texas State shot the highest first round of the tournament after carding a 313 and rebounded with the lowest tournament score of the afternoon, a 302 to climb three places heading into action tomorrow.

McNeese State holds the overall lead with a 611 (305-306), while Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UTSA are tied for second place just one stroke back. Lamar shot a 613 (310-303) and will enter the final round in fourth place, one shot ahead of Texas State.

In the individual standings, Cowgirl Lacy McKinley shot a pair of 74s to lead the field with a 148. A three-way tie for second place stands with Trist Touchette (McN), Allie Jordan (UTSA) and Therese Nilsson (LU) with a 149. Courtney Peeler (AMCC) and Linda Persson (LU) are tied for fifth-place with a 150 and Bobcat Sydney Liles stands in seventh place alone with a 151.

Rounding out Texas State's lineup is Gabby De Reuck with a 153. Adin Stromgren, currently tied for 13th with two-round score of 154, shot a team-best 73 in the final round of the afternoon. Caitlin Bliss and Amy Glazier are tied for 23rd-place with a 150 (79-80).

The final round of the SLC Championship Tournament is set for tomorrow, beginning at 8 a.m. Live scoring will be available at www.Golfstat.com.
