Record Round Treats Women's Golf to Third Place Standing

Miami Lakes, FL - The Bobcat women's golf team tied an all-time Texas State record with its first round score of 297 and backed it with a 308 this afternoon for a 605 combined score at the Ryder Canes & Cards Classic. The mark places the team in third place heading into the final round of action in Miami Lakes, Florida at Don Shula's Golf Course. The final 18 holes is set for shotgun starts beginning at 8 a.m. Amy Glazier leads the team with a pair of 74s for a four-over par 148 and is tied for fifth place. Sydney Liles is tied for ninth after rounds of 74 and 76 (150) on the course this afternoon. Adin Stromgren led off the day with a 74 as well and fired a 79 in the final round of the day for a 153, tied for 20th. Trine Mortensen sits tied for 26th after shooting a 75 and 79 for a two-round score of 154 and Gabby De Reuck is two strokes back from Mortensen with rounds of 77 and 79 and is tied for 37th-place. Texas State's 297-low round matched the all-time lowest round recorded by a Bobcat team set last year at the Chip-N-Club Invitational in Nebraska. The Bobcats overall 605 is two strokes away from second-place Washington State. The Cougars 603 tally trails No. 21 San Jose State. The Spartans will enter the final round of action with a 12-stroke lead over the 12-team field after shooting a 591 combined score.
