TAMPA, Fla. - Texas State carded a 334 Friday to place ninth at the 16-team Northern Illinois Snowbird Intercollegiate tournament played at Pebblecreek Country Club.

The tournament was reduced to a single round after Thursday's play was washed out by storms.

Yale University shot a one-round team total of 305 to earn a four-shot victory over Minnesota at the 19th annual tournament. Southern Miss placed third carding a 314 while Iowa (315) was fourth and Southern Illinois (316) was fifth.

Yale's January Romero and Jessica Shapiro along with Minnesota's Terra Petsinger finished in a three-way tie for first with three-over par rounds of 75. Danielle Mask was Texas State's leading golfer at the tournament with a score of 79.

Texas State returns to action April 4th when it plays host to the first round of the Bobcat Spring Invitational at Plum Creek Golf Club. The tournament will serve as the final tune-up for the Southland Conference Championship later in the month.
