CORPUS CHRISTI - After shooting a two-round score of 167 during the opening rounds of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Islander Classic on Monday, Texas State senior Anessa Thompson rebounded to card a one-under par 71 to finish in a tie for 20th at the Bobcats' second tournament of the spring on Tuesday.

As a team however, Texas State continued to struggle on the links and shot a 318 Tuesday and placed 14th at the 15-team tournament with a score of 951.

Sam Houston State would shoot a tournament-low team round of 287 Tuesday and posted a four-stroke win over second-place Missouri State, which led after two rounds. SHSU shot an 892, Missouri State shot an 896 and Lamar finished third with a 906.

Central Arkansas' Cristina Lecuyer shot a 69 on Tuesday and finished with a three-round score of 215 to capture individual champion honors at the tournament.

Texas State returns to action March 12-13 when they travel to Beaumont for the Lady Cardinal Invitational.
