SAN MARCOS - The Texas State women's basketball team will play in its second televised event this season when they travel to San Antonio, Texas Wednesday night to take on the UTSA Roadrunners on the Southland Conference Television Network. The midweek match-up will conclude the regular season meetings with the Roadrunners and is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. tip.

The game will air on Time Warner Cable channel 50 in San Antonio, along with channel 77 in Austin/San Marcos, channel 15 in Waco/Temple/Killeen and channel 185 in Dallas. Ned Fowler and Marc Vandermeer will serve as the announcers for the I-35 rivalry game.

The Bobcats are 12-14 overall and 6-8 in SLC action, coming off a close run with the Northwestern State Lady Demons last Saturday. Texas State capitalized on the slowing moving East-Division team and pulled out to an 11-point lead in the first half, but Northwestern State fought back, predominately at the stripe going 24-for-29 in the game to take the 80-72 win at Prather Coliseum.

Gabriell Mattox went 6-for-13 from the field with nine rebounds to lead Texas State with 17 points in the decision. The newcomer continues to be an offensive threat on the court, averaging 15.2 points in league games for the No. 5 scoring spot in the conference.

Texas State averages 64.0 points per SLC game at No. 8, while UTSA is third in scoring averaging 70.7 points.

Monica Gibbs leads the Roadrunners in scoring, taking her second-straight SLC Player of the Week nod this week after averaging 22 points and 9.5 rebounds in the last week of action. UTSA grabbed a pair of wins over Northwestern State and Lamar to improve to a 19-8 overall record and a 12-2 showing in the league.

The foe is currently leading the race to the SLC title and the league's postseason tournament and Texas State falls in at seventh-place. The SLC tournament will be held at the Katy Merrell Center March 11-14.

Texas State leads the all-time series with UTSA 29-22, despite an earlier meeting this season that fell in the Roadrunners favor. Texas State's last win over the rival came in an 85-79 win at the Convocation Center last season.
