SAN MARCOS - Marie Moser and Aimee Hilburn each scored a career-high 14 points while combining for 16 rebounds to lead Texas State (5-4) to an 84-51 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God (2-9) on Wednesday.

The Bobcats dominated down low, outscoring the Lady Lions 52-12 in the paint while collecting 53 rebounds, including 21 on the offensive glass, to SAGU's 29 total boards.

Texas State led 17-7 before a pair of Lady Lion baskets trimmed the lead to six with just over 11 minutes to play in the first half. SAGU continued to stay close, hitting a pair of free throws to pull within five at 19-14 with 9:08 on the clock. The Bobcats ended the rally there, using an 8-0 run over the next three minutes and outscoring the Lady Lions 29-5 over the rest of the half to build a 48-19 halftime lead capped by Ryann Bradford's three-pointer just before the halftime buzzer.

The two teams traded baskets over the first six minutes of the second half until Heather Jefferson hit a pair of baskets, including a three just before the shot clock expired, that made it 59-34 with 12:32 left in the game.

Down 70-34 three minutes later, SAGU went on an 11-0 run that made it 70-45 and prompted a Texas State timeout as Jefferson and Kandis Lippe combined for nine points during the spree. The Lady Lions would get no closer though, as Hilburn and Kim Cessna helped seal the win for Texas State.

Four Bobcats finished in double figures, with Chika Ofoegbu and Tamarra Evans-Sluga posting season highs of 11 and 10 points, respectively. All 13 players to see the floor also played for at least 10 minutes for Texas State, including Shandryn Trumble seeing her first action of the season.

Joyce Ekworomadu scored a season-low six points, but her first-half lay-up gave her 1,108 points for her career to pass Sarah Wagner for seventh place on the Texas State career scoring list.

Jefferson finished with 15 points to lead SAGU while Rachel Harris added 11.

Texas State will now head north to Kansas to take on Kansas State on Sunday before playing Wichita State on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
