New York City, NY - The Texas State Bobcats high-powered offense led by a 23-point performance from Ashley Cole ran away with a 77-58 victory over Navy Friday afternoon at the Tyler Ugolyn Columbia Classic Tournament in New York City.

The Bobcats turned the game around just two minutes in after falling to a 5-0 deficit. Kim Cessna dropped two points at the 18:24 mark to spark an 8-0 run for Texas State to contain the only lead Navy would posses for the game.

A free throw paired with a layup from the Mids raised their tally to eight, but Texas State had already doubled the mark, capped by one-point from Chika Ofoegbu behind the stripe. The `Cats led by as many as 13 points in the first half, at 10:46 when freshman Kelsey Krupa hit a jumper to give the `Cats a 23-10 lead. Aimee Hilburn aided the `Cats to its second 13-point lead with just under two minutes left in the first period with two-points in the paint, 37-24.

Krupa came off the bench to spark five points in the first half along with Brittany Wilson, who chipped in six points for the `Cats reserve tally. On a 49-percent shooting effort from the field, Texas State entered the half with a 37-28 lead.

Not faulting any in the second half, Ryann Bradford opened the final period with three points to surge a 14-5 run by the Bobcats. Ashley Cole went 5-for-7 in the remaining minutes leading the team to a 20-point gap over Navy. The senior polished off the game with a pair of fast break layups to give the `Cats their first victory of the season.
