SAN MARCOS - Tori Talbert scored 32 points for the second time in as many games to lead Texas State to its tenth Southland Conference victory of the season, 74-70 against McNeese State. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 13-12 and 10-4 in SLC play.

McNeese State threatened with a comeback in the second half, but the Bobcats were able to hold off the Cowgirls for the win. McNeese got to within two when Regina Spivey made a pair of free throws with a little over a minute left to play.

The 'Cats put the game away when Tamara Thompson made two free throw shots with six seconds remaining.

McNeese State led for the first five minutes of the game until a pair of Talbert's lay-ups evened the score. The Bobcats would extend their lead to 15 by the end of the half with a 27-11 run sparked by a lay-up from Tiffany Cook.

Thompson was the second leading scorer of the game, finishing with 20 points. Every Bobcat who participated in Thursday's game contributed at least one point in the win.

Tara Abdul-Hadi led the Cowgirls with 13 points.

The Bobcats return to action March 2 against Southland Conference-leader Texas-Arlington. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. at Texas Hall in Arlington.
