SAN MARCOS, Texas - Texas State Women's Basketball bounced back from its previous three losses, Saturday with an 85-67 win over Lamar University.  The Bobcats improved to 12-12 on the season and 9-4 in the Southland Conference.  Lamar drops to 8-16 and 2-11 in the SLC.

Two Texas State players missed career high scores by three points.  Tori Talbert ended the night early with 32 points, and Tamara Thompson added 20 to the scoreboard for the Bobcats.  Talbert's high score is 34 points and Thompson's is 22.

The Bobcats started the game with a ten to two run against the Lady Cardinals.  Chelsea Gugliotta finally got Lamar back into the game with a lay-up with 15:22 left in the half.  Texas State had widened the gap to 20 points, by going on a 17 to seven run, to end the first half.

At the start of the second half Talbert, hit a lay-up and Thompson hit a three pointer right off the bat to increase the Bobcats lead to 23 points.  The Lady Cardinals battled back to with-in seven with 5:28 left in the game.  The 'Cats went on a final 13 to five run to win by 18 points over the Lady Cardinals.

Texas State's three-point shooting is what gave them the edge over Lamar.  The Bobcats went 8-12 (.667) from long rang, while only allowing the Lady Cardinal's 2 of 7 (.286) from behind the arch.  Thompson made four of the 'Cats eight three-point goals, and was perfect from long rang with four attempts.  The Bobcats also did a good job of capitalizing on Lamar's 21 turnovers by adding 22 points to the board.

Jeana Hoffman was the third Bobcat to score in double digits against Lamar with 11 points.  Hoffman also had four boards, four assists, one block, and two steals.  Talbert and Thompson the other two Bobcat players scoring in double figures combined for 11 rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Cardinal's had two players, LaToya Carson and Gugliotta score 13 points for Lamar.  However, Bridgette Brackens led Lamar with 14 points on the night.
