2003-2004 [JUNIOR] - Still wearing jersey number 1,... In Ashley's third season with the Bobcats she played in 25 of the team's 27 games...She scored double digits against University of Texas-Arlington both times Texas State faced them...McGruder scored 13 points and was perfect from the free-throw line when University of Texas-Arlington came to San Marcos (1/15)...Then when the `Cats traveled to Arlington(2/21) she scored 12 points, was 100 percent from the line again, and added three rebounds...For the season McGruder recorded a 90 percent free-throw average...She had a season high six rebounds against the Arizona Wildcats (12/14).
2002-2003 [SOPHOMORE] - McGruder was a 2002-03 Oak Farms Dairy Academic Award winner (+3.0 GPA) ... She played in 24 of the team's 32 games ... Her 7 points and 4 boards against University Missouri-Kansas City (11/29) was the first home game McGruder had played in ... Seven points ties her career high...Last season she wore #21, now wears #1.
2001-2002 [FRESHMAN] - Played in 26 games, starting six of them as a true freshman ... Averaged 2.1 points and 1.3 rebounds per game primarily as an alternate guard off the bench ...She was fourth on the team in assists with 33, and added 13 steals...Had career-highs in points with seven and four assists at Louisiana-Monroe (1/19) ... PERSONAL - Ashley Lanette McGruder was born on December 17, 1982 in Palestine, Texas ... She Is the daughter of Lenice Mims and Lynn McGruder ... McGruder has four brothers, Claude (23), Lynn (20), Marque (18) and Wilber (14), and two sisters, Claudette (21) and Sheonee (17) ... Her brother Lynn is a starting defensive lineman for Oklahoma's nationally-ranked football team ... She is getting her degree in Exercise Sports Science.
