SAN MARCOS - Texas State has announced the signing of three-time, All-District 26-5A golfer Philip Krebsbach to a national letter of intent to play for the Bobcats.

Krebsbach, who prepped at Churchill High School in San Antonio, was a member of three district and regional championship teams during his prep career.

As a junior he was the first-place medalist at the District 26-5A tournament and placed third at the regional meet to garner All-Region honors. He was also named to the San Antonio Express-News' All-Area Super Team. In 2006, Churchill tied for the Class 5A state title but placed second after losing a playoff.

Academically, Krebsbach graduated from Churchill Magna cum Laude, was a Texas Scholar and was named to the academic all-district team each year of his high school career. He plans on pursuing a degree in business from Texas State's McCoy College of Business Administration.
