Las Cruces, NM - Jeff Gerlich led Texas State with a 3-under par 210 and helped the Texas State men's golf team to a ninth-place finish at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon. The Bobcats carded an 856 through three rounds on the New Mexico State Golf Course.

Texas State fell from eighth place after shooting a 285-284 with a 287 on the final 18 holes. UNLV claimed the team title with a 23-under par 829 team score.

Individually, Gerlich tied for 15th after opening with a 68-70 and carding a 72 in today's round. Philip Krebsbach tied for 30th after shooting a 214 (68-75-71) and Michael Carnes tied for 38th with a 216 (74-71-71) tournament tally.

Carson Gibson finished one stroke back from Carnes (75-69-73=217) and tied for 41st, while Alastair Jones shot a 224 (75-74-75) and finished tied in 79th.

UNLV's Derek Ernst and New Mexico State's Timothy Madigan shared the individual title after carding a nine-under par 204.

Texas State will return to the links Feb. 15-16 at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
