Arlington, TX - Jeff Gerlich fired a 74 at the University of Texas Golf Club and sits tied for 18th-place at the end of day one at the NCAA Regional Tournament held in Austin, Texas this afternoon. Corey Roberson shot an 83 and is tied for 68th on the par-71 course.

The Bobcats will conclude the three-day postseason tournament Saturday afternoon.

"Jeff played really solid today," said head coach Shane Howell. "He is right in position to get back out on the course tomorrow and do some great things."

Gerlich's three-over par score is just six strokes off from individual leaders Lance Lopez (Texas) and Hugues Joannes (Lamar), who lead the field with a three-under par 68.

"Corey had a rough day today," said Howell. "He is a fighter and will come back tomorrow and play well."

Roberson's 83 marks his highest round this season.

On the team leaderboard, Texas Tech leads the field with a two-under par 282 team score. Texas sits in second place with a 291 and Florida is third with a 293.
