First Round Results - SLC Championship Get Acrobat Reader

Kerrville, Texas - The Texas State men's golf team trudged through rainy weather and wet course conditions on day one of the Southland Conference Championship Tournament and posted a collective 309 for a seventh-place tie at The Club at Comanche Trace this evening.

Today's competition got underway at 8:30 a.m. but was stopped around 2 p.m. due to heavy rain. Play resumed at 4 p.m.

Texas State is tied with Sam Houston State and UT Arlington holds a 25-stroke lead over the pair after carding a 284 first round.

Corey Roberson leads the Bobcat camp individually with a one-over par 73 and is tied for eighth place. Carson Gibson is tied for 19th after firing a 75 and Philip Krebsbach finished one stroke back and is tied for 27th.

Jeff Gerlich and Michael Carnes both shot rounds of 85 and are tied for 46th-place.

Individually, Zack Fischer of UTA is in the lead with a three-under par 69.

Tournament action will resume at 8:30 a.m.
