- Current students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university can tailgate for free on a first-come, first-serve basis in the general tailgating area. There will be no power or no reserved spaces.
- All tailgate participants are expected to abide by all state, city, NCAA, Texas State University and Texas State University System laws, policies and rules. The possession and use of alcohol must be in compliance with all state, county, city, Board of Regents and university laws, ordinances or rules. Disruptive behavior, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and similar types of behavior can result in referral to a university disciplinary committee and/or potential criminal prosecution.
- Tailgate participants are asked to keep their tailgate set-ups contained within the painted parking lane spaces. Driving lanes should be kept clear of tailgate setups at all times to allow access for emergency and university vehicles.
- Non-alcoholic beverages and food must be available if alcoholic beverages are present. Food and non-alcoholic beverages must be featured as prominently as the alcoholic beverages.
- Beverage Containers: No glass, kegs or group containers are allowed.
- Parking in the tailgate area will be limited to those providing tailgate resources to their personal spaces. Arrangements for long-term parking on game-day should be made in the Strahan, Hidden Village and Mills Street parking lots to provide space for the maximum number of tailgate participants. Bus routes will also be made available around campus and San Marcos on game days to help ease parking around the stadium.
- Tailgating in designated areas may not begin before 9 am on game days.
- Tailgating should be suspended at the start of the game until the end of the fourth quarter. Fans are strongly encouraged to begin making arrangements to suspend their tailgates approximately 30 minutes prior to kickoff so that they may enjoy pre-game festivities and help support the Bobcat bid for FBS. At any given time after kickoff, a maximum of TWO (2) individuals may stay at their personal tailgating area to ensure that their property remains safe and contained.
- Pets are not allowed to run at large in tailgating sites or on campus and must be leashed at all times in accordance with San Marcos City Ordinance. Animals should not be left unattended or secured to university property. Please clean up after your pet in accordance with San Marcos City Ordinance.
- Commercial activity or solicitations (which is defined as "advertising, the taking of orders, sales, donations, collecting and distributing literature marketing applications or promotional materials") are not allowed on university property unless authorized by the university. Vendor spaces are available on game day through the Texas State Tailgate Committee at 512.245.7000 or by email at tailgate@txstate.edu. Recreational Vehicles (RV's) are permitted, but they must obtain a pass from the Texas State Tailgate Committee at the cost of $350 for the season. Please contact the committee for any RV inquiries.
- All tailgating items such as tents, grills, coolers, furniture, etc. must be removed no later than 1 hours after the end of the football game. You will be held responsible for any damage, injury or loss caused by these items.
- Where BBQ grills are allowed, all BBQ grills, propane or otherwise, should be attended to at all times Grills on trailers may not be driven onto green spaces. Hot coals must be doused and properly disposed of in special designated Coal Containers to prevent fires. Fires built on the ground and open fire pit devises are prohibited.
- Dispose of all trash in trash receptacles located in tailgating areas or pack it out. The disposal of grease, hot coals or hazardous materials onto the grounds or in storm drains is prohibited. Failure to properly dispose of or remove trash will result in a fine and revocation of tailgating privileges for the remainder of the season.
- Texas State University-San Marcos is not responsible or liable for accidents, damage, loss or theft of materials/items/personal property.
Notes:
- Any person damaging University property will be responsible for the cost of repairs up to and including criminal prosecution.
- Texas State University, Texas State University Athletics, the University Police Department and transportation services reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time -- inappropriate behavior will result in the permanent loss of all parking and tailgating privileges.
