SAN MARCOS - Texas State will hold its second scrimmage of spring football drills Thursday starting at 3:30 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium.

"We'll put the ball down and let the guys play," said Texas State second-year coach David Bailiff. "We're going to work on a lot of field zone situations such as Red Zone and in the open field. If there's a three-and-out, we'll repeat the series."

Texas State last scrimmaged March 8th and Bailiff said the Bobcats did not have a let down after returning this week from spring break.

"We have had two really good practices," he said. "We came out in shorts on Monday and had a really spirited practice in pads on Tuesday. I anticipate this week's scrimmage is going to be a great one. They've been preparing well for it."

Thursday's scrimmage will cap the third week of the spring. Texas State will have three practices in full pads next week before the annual Spring Game slated for Saturday, April 2nd in Bobcat Stadium.
