San Marcos, Texas - The Sports Network announced Tuesday that Texas State senior wide receiver Cameron Luke has been selected as a Third-Team FCS All-American after his record-setting senior season in 2008 in which he ranked 12th nationally with 73 receptions, fifth nationally with 1,268 receiving yards and fourth nationally with 17 touchdown catches.

Luke also broke his own school records for most receptions and most receiving yards in a single season. His 17 touchdowns tied former Bobcat standout running back Claude Mathis for the most touchdowns scored in a season. This marks the second All-America team to which Luke has been named as he was chosen a Third-Team All-American by the Associated Press as well.

In addition to Luke's selection, sophomore running back Karrington Bush, senior place kicker Andrew Ireland and senior center Jeff Bowen were named Honorable Mention All-Americans.

Bush became the first Bobcat since 1997 to rush for 1,000 yards in two consecutive seasons after he gained 1,065 yards and scored 11 touchdowns on 136 carries in 2008.

Bush ranked sixth nationally with 179.23 all-purpose yards per game after he also returned 42 kickoffs for 1,055 yards. He is the first Bobcat to gain 1,000 yards in kickoff returns.

Ireland ranked fourth nationally among kickers with 7.62 points per game. He scored 99 points in Texas State's 13 games this season after making 57 of his 59 extra-point attempts and 14 of his 17 field goals. His longest field goal was 48 yards against Sam Houston State.

Bowen anchored Texas State's offensive line that anchored the nation's eighth-best offense that gained 5,892 total yards. The Bobcats ranked 12th nationally in passing offense with 3,499 yards and 25th in rushing with 2,393 yards. Texas State also ranked seventh nationally in scoring offense with an average of 36.38 points per game.
