Texas State

Head Coach Brad Wright Opening Statement: "It seemed like every time we did something in the second half, we had a penalty. We put ourselves in a hole and we never could make it back up. We put our defense in a bind for a couple of situations with those two interceptions. It's kind of hard to remember how it all happened to be quite honest with you."

On Standout seasons from Cameron Luke, Karrington Bush, and Chris MacDonald: "We had some good individuals things happen to us. Those things are good and fine, and that's something for them to build on. Hopefully, for them and the team the most important thing is winning football games. They worked hard all year, but I think those guys would trade all those records for a win tonight."

On the season: "It's hard to put the season into perspective after a game like this. The whole season would have had a different tint on it if we would have won this."

"We never quit, and there are teams with a lot less character that would have quit. Some guys would have thrown in the towel after five straight losses, but we didn't. That's the biggest compliment I can give them."

Nate Langford "Over the last four years we've had some really good times and some bad times. As a defensive player and a senior, with that four down and five late in the game, I couldn't have written it any better - except that we didn't make the stop. But as I look back, I can say that I won a conference championship and I don't have any regrets."

Bradley George "I'm going to use this as motivation, how can you not after blowing an 18-point lead with 9 minutes left. It's a horrible feeling going out like this, and for those seniors who've meant so much to this program over the last couple of years."

Sam Houston State

Head Coach Todd Whitten

"I couldn't ask for more. I'm so proud of this senior class. We've had ups and downs, but what a way to end the season."

On being down at the half

"..we made our plays in all three phases of the game and we played until the very end."

On Brett Hicks

"He started his junior year and didn't this year...he just got off to a slow start. His performance tonight was admirable. He came through right when we needed him."

On the final drive

"We needed to connect at the end...we had three opportunities and we got a great look at the end and it's just what we needed."

On receiving an at-large bid

"I just don't think there is a chance for a 7-4 team to enter the race."

Brett Hicks

"It just didn't look good at the beginning but the offense really wanted the ball back and we played that way...it showed."

On the 5-0 streak

"We just have a bunch of selfless people...we work together as one and we got our win."
