McNeese State Coach Matt Viator:
"I'm really proud of the way we played. Texas State came in with a good game plan. Early on, they had us off balance by mixing and matching a lot. They made some big plays on us, but we adjusted."

"I liked what we saw in the passing game. We probably got away from the run sooner than we would have liked but Derrick [Fourroux] looked really good. He made a mistake before going into the half but he had that rushing touchdown so he made up for it."

"We're not going to make any excuses about the injuries [to Steven Whitehead & Jamie Leonard]. Losing those guys hurts, but we have to find a way to win without them. Texas State and every other team has injuries too."

Texas State Coach Brad Wright:
"They've got three of the best wide receivers in the conference...the quarterback doesn't look like a sophomore, that's for sure. Defensively, they're very athletic, they run around and make plays."

"We don't make plays...you throw them the ball, they go 60 to 70 yards with it, you throw us the ball, we go down. I can't explain it."

"(At halftime) we said come out and play...we were positive with them, said lets go out and make plays, play hard, when you get 11 guys (doing that) on offense, 11 guys on defense, 11 on special teams, good things happen."

"(Our defensive progress) was kind of hard to tell...it's an ongoing thing, when you try a new experiment against the number six team in the nation maybe that's what you get."

"The key word on offense and defense is consistency - we haven't had it yet. We just haven't had it."

"We've got great guys on this team with great character. We're trying to toughen them up, and we're not going to compromise it."

Defensive lineman Nate Langford:
"We came out...we beat McNeese three years in a row, and every time (we) played them, (we) hit them in the mouth. I feel we came out and threw the first punch...we could have held with them, that's what's so frustrating."

"The plan isn't what's wrong. Everyone is working hard, it's just...executing. We've got to start clicking. We're going to get tough...you can either quit, or get tough. We're never giving up...the Southland Conference is a crazy conference, you never know what can happen."

"We got the best plan to stop their offense, and it's like a slap in the faces to (the coaches) when you go out there and you're not consistent. That's me included."

Quarterback Bradley George:
"I want to give (McNeese) credit, but I don't want to give them too much credit...I think maybe we're a little bit better than we (played)."

"I've got to do a better job of (checking down), these (running backs) are some of the greatest athletes on this team, probably."
