  • Texas State's last loss to a Division II team was a 40-12 decision against Texas A&M-Kingsville Sept. 14, 1995. The Bobcats had won 12 straight against teams who play football below the Division I level.

  • 1995 was also the last time a Division II team upended a nationally-ranked Division I FCS program. Texas State entered the game No. 19 in The Sports Network Weekly Top 25. Abilene Christian was ranked No. 24 in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll.

  • During Saturday's first half, Texas State quarterback Bradley George completed 9-of-18 passes for 72 yards and had an interception which would Abilene Christian's first touchdown. (1-play, 23-yard drive). George would complete 14-of-25 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns in the second half.

  • Morris Crosby completed a 52-yard touchdown pass. It was the former high school quarterback's second scoring toss of his career. Last year Crosby completed a 50-yard touchdown pass against Texas Southern.

  • Texas State junior receiver Cameron Luke caught a career-high six passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.

  • The Bobcats' longest play from scrimmage in the first half was punter Chris MacDonald's 23-yard run for a first down in the second quarter.

  • After turning the ball over three times in last week's 27-17 loss to Central Oklahoma, Abilene Christian did not have a turnover in Saturday's game against the Bobcats.

  • The 27 points was the most by a Bobcat team in a loss since the 2005 overtime loss to Northern Iowa in the semifinals of the NCAA Division I playoffs.
