Westside High School: Lettered for Coach Bill Wilson at Westside, playing both at receiver and cornerback ... earned All-District 17-5A honors three times for his defensive play and as a senior on offense ... also was named team MVP as a senior when he caught eight touchdown passes and had better than 700 receiving yards ... also returned four kicks for scores ... was a standout track athlete as well ... was the district champion in the 200 meters and the runner-up in the long jump ... set school records in the 100 meters (10.42) and the long jump (22-12) ... was a regional finalist in the 100 meters, 200 meters and long jump ... was ranked among the top 50 sprinters in the nation following his senior season.
