Bakersfield High School: Was the Yosemite League Defensive Player of the Year as a senior ... was a 2002 Bakersfield Home Town Sports, Home Town All-Star as a defensive back ... was the November Athlete of the Month as named by the Bakersfield Jockey Club in 2002 ... won the Frank Gifford Award, given to the best defensive back at Bakersfield High School ... as a senior posted 120 tackles, caused two fumbles, intercepted five passes and led the team in solo tackles assists and interceptions ... earned All-Southeast Yosemite League defensive back honors as both a junior and senior ... also named first-team all-area senior year ... had 95 tackles, five quarterback sacks, two caused fumbles and six interceptions as a junior ... lettered two years in football, three years in basketball and two in track and field ... was named the Most Inspirational Player on the 2002 Bakersfield basketball team ... four-time Academic Honor Roll honoree who carried a 3.2 grade point average in high school ... high school football coach was Jason Oliver.
