The Bobcat Baseball team is off to another great start in 2010 with major sweeps over the likes of Houston and Penn State. The Bobcats still have premium home games versus Texas A&M, Baylor, TCU and the rest of the Southland Conference.

One of the best traditions at Texas State is the cheer program which recently competed at the UCA College Cheerleading National Championships in Orlando, FL where they had another great showing. Tryouts for the Texas State Spirit Program are scheduled for April.

The Jerry D. and Linda Gregg Fields Bobcat Stadium West Side Complex is the first of many improvements that will take place at Bobcat Stadium. The new state-of-the-art structure includes 15 luxury Legacy suites and a Champions Club Level with 450 open-air seats adjacent to a lounge giving fans premium comfort as they watch the Bobcats.

2003: Dressed out and saw limited action without a tackle a true freshman.
The Woodlands High School: Was a three-year letter winner for Coach Weldon Willig at The Woodlands High ... came to Texas State after after helping The Woodlands to a 28-11 three-year record, including a state semifinalist finish in 2000 and a state quarterfinalist result in 2001 ... team was Bi-District champion in 2002 ... as a starter for two years on defense, posted 151 total tackles, 35 for loss and 10 quarterback sacks ... also had a defensive touchdown ... unanimous first-team all-district selection as a senior ... all-district as a junior as well as earning all-county honors as a junior and senior ... also team MVP three times.
Personal: Born Dec. 2, 1984, in Austin, Texas ... undecided on a major ... son of Mike Simpson and Karen Heintz ... signed with the Bobcats over New Mexico, Rice, and La. Tech.
