2002: Was a starter much of the season at cornerback and he finished eighth on the team with 43 tackles (31 unassisted) ... 31 unassisted tackles was sixth-best on the team ... high game was a nine-tackle effort on the road at Portland State ... twice posted six tackles in a game ... had six tackles at Northwestern State and at Sam Houston State ... only interception of the season came at home against Texas A&M-Kingsville ... recovered a fumble in the Stephen F. Austin contest.
2001: Got on the field for the first time as a backup in the secondary and on special teams as a red-shirt freshman ... had seven tackles on the season and two pass breakups ... best game was a three-tackle afternoon against Sam Houston in the season finale ... also had an interception in the season-opening win over Arkansas-Monticello.
2000: Was redshirted in his first year on the Texas State campus.

Rutledge at Converse Judson High ... was a first-team all-district selection as a senior and was honorable mention all-city ... was named a KSAT-TV Scholar Athlete of the Week during his final year ... Judson was 14-1 and state runner-up during Leno's junior season ... team finished 7-3 during his senior campaign.
