As a redshirt freshman, had one pass reception during the season...caught a 23-yard pass in the Bobcats' game against Northern Colorado...as a blocker, helped Texas State average 351.64 yards of offense per game, second in the Southland Conference...total offense average was also 38th among FCS programs...`Cats averaged 201 yards passing and 150 yards passing.
High School
Played for a Calallen squad which advanced to a state-playoff record 21 consecutive seasons during senior season...had 80 tackles, forced four fumbles, recovered two and had an interception...was named to the All-Bay Class 4A team as a defensive lineman...named All-District 30-4A as both a defensive lineman and a tight end...also named all-metro...played on state semifinalist team junior season that had a 13-1 record...his high school squad advanced to the state quarterfinals during his senior year and finished with a 9-4 mark...high school coach was Phil Danaher...also played soccer.
