Travis Bush is in his sixth season overall and third season as the associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at his alma mater, Texas State.

Last season, Bush helped to direct Texas State's high-powered offense that boasted the nation's seventh-best scoring attack with 36.4 points per game, and eighth-best overall total offense with an average of 453.23 yards per game. In addition, the Bobcats had the nation's 12th-best passing offense with 269.15 yards passing per game. Texas State also featured a 2,000-yard passer, 1,000-yard wide receiver and 1,000-yard runner for the second straight season, the only two times in school history Texas State has accomplished the feat.

Under Bush's tutelage, quarterback Bradley George ranked sixth nationally in passing efficiency with a rating of 158.88 after he completed 181 of 301 passes for 2,660 yards and 26 touchdowns while throwing just six interceptions. In addition, Clint Toon concluded his collegiate career completing 73 of 126 passes for 839 yards and eight touchdowns.

In 2007, George completed 190 of his 334 passes for 2,099 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Bush is in his sixth season overall at Texas State. He was promoted to his current position after serving three seasons as Texas State's wide receivers coach following the 2006 season.

During the 2005 Southland Conference co-championship and national semifinal playoff run, Bush coached All-Southland Conference First-Team receiver Markee White, who went on to sign a free agent contract with the St. Louis Rams. He also coached All-SLC Honorable Mention return specialist Dameon Williams.

Texas State led the Southland Conference and ranked 11th nationally in total offense in 2005, averaging 439.7 yards per game. The Bobcats also led the league with a 135.48 pass efficiency rating.

Bush began his coaching career at San Marcos High School where he tutored the Rattlers' quarterbacks, running backs and special teams. San Marcos completed the 2000 campaign with an 11-1 record and an appearance in the state's regional finals.

From 2001-2004, Bush was a graduate assistant coach at TCU, and worked with the Horned Frogs' offensive line. During his three-year tenure, the Frogs made three straight bowl appearances, captured a Conference USA championship, won a Liberty Bowl and had a combined record of 27-10. Bush earned a master's degree in education administration from TCU in 2003.

A Portland native, Bush graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in 1995, where he was a Class 4A All-State quarterback. He came to Texas State, and lettered four seasons as a wide receiver and served as the Bobcats' special teams' captain in 1999. He earned the 1999 J. C. Kellam Award, which honors Texas State's most outstanding senior football student-athlete.

Bush graduated from Texas State in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science and holds teaching certificates in mathematics and physical education. He and his wife Diana have two sons, Treyson and Tyler.
