San Marcos, Texas - The Texas State men's basketball team looks to improve its record to 2-3 when the Bobcats travel to Fort Worth, Texas, and play the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the first of two NIT Consolation Round games on Monday, Nov. 23. The game tips off at 5:30 p.m., at the Daniel Meyer Coliseum. The Bobcats will play TCU in the next round on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 8:00 p.m.

The Bobcats enter the Milwaukee game with a 1-3 record this season after suffering three straight losses against Arizona State, Cal State Northridge and New Orleans. Texas State opened the sesaon with a 102-67 victory over Howard Payne on Nov. 13. The Bobcats suffered an 84-62 loss at Arizona State in the first round of the West Regional of the NIT Tipoff Tournament in Tempe, Ariz. on Nov. 16. Texas State also suffered an 85-82 setback in the second round of the West Regional on Nov. 17, before suffering a 67-55 loss at New Orleans last Saturday, Nov. 21.

Milwaukee enters the game with a 2-2 record after defeating Hillsdale 62-54 last Saturday in Milwaukee...The Panthers opened the season with an 89-73 victory over Concordia-St. Paul on Nov. 13 before suffering a 69-65 loss against Western Kentucky and a 76-63 setback against Indiana State in the first two rounds of the NIT Tipoff in Baton Rouge, La.

HEAD COACH Doug Davalos
Texas State is in its fourth season under head coach Doug Davalos, who enters Saturday's game with a 109-89 career record as a head coach. The Bobcats have shown consistent improvement under the direction of Davalos, who owns a 37-54 mark at Texas State. In his first season, he tripled Texas State's win total form the previous campaign with a 9-20 mark. The Bobcats were 13-16 in 2007-08 before earning a berth into the Southland Conference Tournament last season with a 14-16 record.

The Texas State-Milwaukee game can be heard in the San Marcos area on KTSW (89.9 FM) with Brant Freeman calling the play-by-play. Freeman also serves as the play-by-play voice for Texas State football games. NEXT TIME OUT
Following Monday night's game against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Texas State will play its final game in the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Tipoff Tournament when the Bobcats face TCU in the Daniel Meyer Coliseum on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 8:00 p.m. After the TCU contest, Texas State returns home to play Texas A&M International on Dec. 1 in Strahan Coliseum at 7:00 p.m.
