Feb. 28, 2006 SAN MARCOS - Texas State closes out the season this week as the Bobcats take on league-leader Northwestern State for Senior Night before traveling to Nicholls State Friday. Tip-off for Wednesday's game with Northwestern State is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast by both KTSW-FM 89.9 as well as Bobcats All Access through txstatebobcats.com. The game will mark the final home contest for Texas State seniors Lance Burroughs and Chris Langhorne. Burroughs has played for the Bobcats the past three years after transferring from Colin County Community College. This year he is averaging 4.8 points and 1.8 rebounds. He has started 20 games for the `Cats. Less than two weeks ago he scored a career-high 25 points in the Bobcats' 85-68 win over Texas-San Antonio. He is coming off an 11-oint game at SFA where he made 5-of-11 shots from the field. Against SFA, Bush was 7-for-11 from the field and made 3-of-4 three-pointers. For the year, he is averaging 8.6 points and 3.3 rebounds. Northwestern State has now won 10 straight Southland Conference games and their lone blemish over the last 11 games was a 66-63 Bracket Buster Saturday loss at Utah State on Feb. 18. Heading into this week's Central Texas journey to Texas State and Texas-San Antonio (Friday), NSU has already laid claim to the Southland Conference championship and the No. 1 seed in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Southland Conference Tournament. Senior forward Clifton Lee is averaging 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds to lead the Demons while senior guard Jermaine Wallace is also averaging double figures, scoring 10 points an outing. In addition to 7.7 points per game, senior guard Tyronn Mitchell is averaging 4.93 assists, which ranks second in the Southland Conference. Northwestern State leads the Southland Conference in three-point shooting, connecting on 38 percent of its attempts from outside the arc. Lee made three of four attempts and the Demons were 9-of-24 from three-point range in their earlier meeting against Texas State. NSU won that game, 89-71 back in late January.
