Brandon Ridenour joined the Texas State program during the preseason as the Bobcats' Director of Basketball Operations after coaching the previous three years in the high school ranks in the state of Indiana.

As a collegiate player, Ridenour played on an Eastern New Mexico team in which Doug Davalos was an assistant coach.

Since his playing career, Ridenour has served as an assistant coach in the junior college ranks and as an assistant prep coach before being named the head boys' basketball coach at Calument High School in Gary, Ind., at the age of 26.

Ridenour's 2006 squad captured the school's first conference title in eight years. He was named the Northwest Indiana Coach of the year by Region Sports Network.

Calumet were IHSAA Sectional runners up in 2005 and 2006.

Prior to being named the head coach at Calumet High School, Ridenour was an assistant coach at Triton College in River Grove, Ill., for the 2002-03 season and served as the varsity assistant coach at Gavit High School in Hammond, Ind., for the 2003-04 season.

At Triton, Ridenour coached a team which was ranked as high as No. 13 in NJCAA Division II. During his lone season at Gavit, the high school won its first sectional title since 1985 after the program won just one game a year earlier under the previous coaching staff.

Ridenour graduated with a double major in business administration and computer information systems from Eastern New Mexico while carrying a 3.6 grade point average. He ranked third in the Lone Star Conference in three-point shooting as a senior at ENM. He started 65 of 78 games during his career at Eastern New Mexico and averaged better than 10 points per game.

Ridenour's wife, LaDawn, also played collegiate basketball, lettering at Sheridan College. The couple have a two-year old daughter, Cohen DeLynn.
