Texas State Garners At-Large Bid to NCAA Regional Championship

SAN MARCOS - Coming off one of the most successful seasons in Texas State baseball history, the 2009 Bobcats have been granted an at-large bid to the NCAA Regional Championship Tournament. The Bobcats earned the No. 2 seed in the Austin Regional, hosted by National No. 1 seed Texas, and featuring No. 3 seed Boston College and No. 4 seed Army. UFCU-Disch Falk Field in Austin will serve as one of 16 four-team regional tournament sites that will be played in a double-elimination format beginning Friday, May 29 until Monday, June 1 at UFCU-Disch Falk Field. Texas State will make its first appearance in the NCAA Championships since 2000 and fourth overall. Head coach Ty Harrington took over the program in 2000 and will be making his second trip to the postseason. Overall, Texas State is 3-6 in Regional Tournament play. The Bobcats will play the first game Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. against Boston College. Texas will face Army in the following game at 6 p.m. Ticket Information Tickets may be ordered online at www.TexasBoxOffice.com, by phone at either 800/982-BEVO or 512/471-3333 or in person at the UT Athletics Ticket Office between 9 am - 4 pm (Central) beginning on Tuesday, May 26. The UFCU Disch-Falk Field ticket office also will be open from 10 am - 4 pm (Central) from Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, May 28 and will open at 10 am on Friday and stay open until the 7th inning of Friday's second game. The UFCU Disch-Falk Field ticket office will open one-and-one-half hours prior to the day's opening game on all game days during the Regional. Regional all-session ticket prices are $60 for reserved seats and $45 for general admission. Individual game tickets (if available) will go on sale at 9 am (Central) on Friday, May 29 and can be ordered online at www.TexasBoxOffice.com, by phone at either 800/982-BEVO or 512/471-3333 or at the UFCU Disch-Falk Field ticket office. Prices for individual session tickets are $12 for reserved seats and $9 for general admission.
