The Bobcat men's basketball team is headed to Katy, TX to take on the rest of the Southland Conference at the Merrell Center in the 2010 SLC Basketball Tournament. One of the best traditions at Texas State is the cheer program which recently competed at the UCA College Cheerleading National Championships in Orlando, FL where they had another great showing. Tryouts for the Texas State Spirit Program are scheduled for April.

The Jerry D. and Linda Gregg Fields Bobcat Stadium West Side Complex is the first of many improvements that will take place at Bobcat Stadium. The new state-of-the-art structure includes 15 luxury Legacy suites and a Champions Club Level with 450 open-air seats adjacent to a lounge giving fans premium comfort as they watch the Bobcats.

2008: Returns as No. 4 hitter on Texas State's offense, batting .339 ... made 50 appearances with 47 starts ... tallied 62 hits in 183 at-bats ... belted career-high three hits on six occasions ... went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored against McNeese State (5/10) ... scored 40 runs ... notched 14 doubles and three home runs ... first homer came against New Mexico (3/2) in 2-for-5 showing with three RBI ... second against UTPA ... concluded the season with 45 RBIs ... set SLC tournament record for most RBIs in just one game ... notched seven against UT Arlington (5/21) going 3-for-5 in the feat ... erased the all-time record, batting in 11 runs for the tournament ... posted a .988 fielding percentage behind the plate ... All-SLC honorable mention.
2007: Made 33 starts in 36 outings ... posted a .295 batting average ... blasted one home run for the season ... came against McNeese State (5/13) ... tallied 28 hits in 95 at-bats ... recorded 14 RBI with season-best of four coming against UT Arlington ... record eight extra-base hits, including six doubles ... .411 slugging percentage.
High School: Three-year letter winner at Westside High School for head coach Emrick Jagneaux ... helped WHS to 28-4 record and 21-5A District title his senior season ... earned 1st-Team All-District accolades ... named MVP and two-time honorable mention All-State honors by Texas Sports Writers Association.
Personal: Benjamin Theriot was born December 8, 1987 in Houston, Texas ... son of James and Jennifer Theriot ... has one brother, Dale and a sister, Lauren, a recent graduate from Texas State ... accounting major.
