One of the best traditions at Texas State is the cheer program which recently competed at the UCA College Cheerleading National Championships in Orlando, FL where they had another great showing. Tryouts for the Texas State Spirit Program are scheduled for April.

Facilities Spotlight
The Jerry D. and Linda Gregg Fields Bobcat Stadium West Side Complex is the first of many improvements that will take place at Bobcat Stadium. The new state-of-the-art structure includes 15 luxury Legacy suites and a Champions Club Level with 450 open-air seats adjacent to a lounge giving fans premium comfort as they watch the Bobcats.

2009: Batted .375 eight at-bats ...recorded three hits, scored three runs with one RBI ... single RBI came in a 2-for-2 outing with three runs scored against Prairie View A&M ... made one start, against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, in nine appearances.
Previous School: Competed freshman and sophomore season at Grayson County College ... helped team to a 48-15 record under head coach Dusty Hart ... claimed the 2008 Junior College National Championship ... GCC also took the Region V Conference Championship.
High School: Lettered two years at James Martin High School ... competed under head coach Curt Culbertson, helping the team to a 34-5 overall record and back-to-back district championships ... named 8-5A 1st-Team All-District and All-Area in 2005 ... claimed both honors in 2006 as well, along with 2006 Warrior Team MVP.
Personal: Shaun Garcia was born September 15, 1987 in Arlington, Texas ... son of John and Marylee Garcia ... has two brothers, Brent, played baseball at West Texas A&M, and Daniel, will compete at UT Arlington next season ... enjoys hunting and fishing ... psychology major.
