Cross Country Ready for Southwestern Invitational

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Texas State men's and women's cross country teams will be in action tomorrow at the Southwestern University Short Course Invitational. The race will be held on the Kurth-Landrum Golf Course Southwestern University Campus. The men's team will compete first with a start time of 8:00 a.m. for the 8k course. The women will follow with an approximate start time of 8:45 a.m. for the 6k course. Both teams will be competing after taking last week off. The women's "A" team competed at the Cowboy Jamboree on Oct. 4, where they finished 13th out of 25. The Bobcats competed on the 6,000-meter course, where Northern Arizona won the team crown. Tenley Determan led all Bobcats with a 37th place finish crossing the line in 22:28. The men's team finished fifth out of 13 teams. Roel Elizalde was the top Bobcat finisher of the day crossing the line in 26:44 to finish 12th. Tomorrow's race will be the last warm-up before conference. Conference championships will be hosted by Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches on November 3.
