Cross Country Splits Up for Weekend Action

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Texas State men's and women's cross country teams will both be in action this weekend. The Bobcats will be competing at the Cowboy Jamboree and the TLU Invitational tomorrow morning.

The women's side will be sending its "A" team to the 72nd Annual Cowboy Jamboree being hosted by Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla. The meet will be run on the OSU Cross Country Course, the oldest consecutively run cross country race in the nation; which will be the 6,000-meter course for the meet. The race is scheduled to start at 8:10 a.m.

The "B" team will be racing at the TLU Invitational down the road in Seguin. The women's race, to be contested over 6,000 meters, starts at 9 a.m. Teams scheduled to compete in the women's race include: Schreiner University, Trinity University, University of Texas at San Antonio, Southwestern University, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M International, University of Texas-Permian Basin, University of Dallas, Texas A&M-Kingsville, University of Texas at Dallas, Huston-Tillotson University, Texas Lutheran, along with Texas State.

The men's side will stay close to home as they will also travel their "A" team to the TLU Invitational. men's race, set for a distance of 8,000 meters, is slated for a 9:45 a.m. start. Men's teams scheduled to compete at the meet are: Schreiner University, Trinity University, University of Texas at San Antonio, Southwestern University, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M International, University of Texas-Permian Basin, University of Dallas, Lynchburg College, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Huston Tillotson University, along with Texas State University.

Last weekend, both teams took the weekend off to rest their legs and prepare for the second half of their season before conference.
