Cross Country Ends Season at NCAA South Central Region Championships

WACO, Texas - Texas State men's and women's cross country wrapped up the 2009 season at the NCAA South Central Region Championships today. The race was held at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco, Texas. Bobcat men finished 15th, while the women placed 16th. The men were led by sophomore Michael Morris who registered a time of 33:33 on the 8k course. Jesus Ordaz was next to cross the line with a time of 33:50. Hugo Corral recorded a time of 34:23. Andres Herrera clocked a time of 34:31 and Chase Teinert recorded a time of 37:01 to round out the pack. Sophomore Steffanie Armstrong anchored the women clocking a time of 22:51 for 44th place on the 5k course. Maria Lopez was the second Bobcat to finish as she recorded a time of 23:28. Amanda McKinney wrapped up the course in 24:04, followed by April Murphy (24:10) and Dana Dolejsi (24:52).
