Final Stats

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Roel Elizalde finished 11th and Tenley Determan came in 15th for the Bobcats at the SLC Cross Country Championship on Monday morning.

Elizalde's performance helped the Bobcats to a fourth place finish on the men's side while Determan helped the women's team to sixth place.

Elizalde, a freshman from Laredo, Texas, finished just out of the top ten with an 8K time of 26:27. The Bobcat men had seven athletes finish in the top 50, including Alex Escontrias (17th), James Ortiz (23rd), Francisco Avelar (30th), Andrew McCartin (31st), David Fuentes (43rd) and Javier Prado (44th).

Sophomore Determan, from College Station, finished her 6K race in 23:11. Kirby West came in 35th while Stephanie Flores, Marina Andruzzi and Brittany Rosen also finished in the top 50.

Cody Clark and Ashley Monteau, both representing Stephen F. Austin, won the individual titles as SFA and Lamar won the men's and women's team titles, respectively.

Clark won the men's race in 25:34 and SFA saw five runners finish in the top 10 on the morning to help the Jacks earn the team title. Monteau notched a 20:54 winning run. On the women's side, Lamar finished with 26 points to grab the team title.
