STILLWATER, Okla. - Texas State's Andrew McCartin and Alex Escontrias led Texas State to a 16th-place finish at the 69th running of the Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University Saturday.

The meet field included perennial national contender Arkansas who won the event with a score of 42 points as well as host Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Rice who finished third, fourth and fifth. Division II power Abilene Christian placed second.

McCartin finished the 8K course 73rd while Escontrias was 74th with matching times of 27:36. Francisco Avelar finished in 76th place for the Bobcats in a time of 27:39.

The Bobcats return to action next week when they play host to the Texas State Classic.
