BERLIN, Germany - Texas State alum Brigitte Foster-Hylton won the women's 100 hurdles at the 12th IAAF World Championships of Athletics, being held from Aug.15-23. Foster-Hylton won the race in a season-best time of 12.51 to capture her first World Championship gold medal in the event.

Foster-Hylton had the second fastest time entering the final after she won her semi-final heat in 12.54. That time was also a season-best for Foster-Hylton before improving her time again in the final. Her all-time personal best in the event is 12.45, which she ran in 2003.

This is foster-Hylton's best finish at the World Championships, since 2003 when she placed second.
