FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Kemuel Morales competed in the finals of the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, finishing his Texas State career with a 10th place finish at nationals and an all-american honor. Morales had a throw of 18.03 meters (59-02.00) on his last attempt to come away with a Top 10 finish.

In Wednesday's qualifying round, Morales recorded a new school record when he heaved a throw of 18.46 meters (60-6.75) on his second throw to advance to tomorrow's finals. He was just the second Bobcat in school history to throw over 60 feet; the mark gave him the eighth best throw entering the finals.

Morales originally qualified for the championships after hauling a season-best throw of 18.23 meters (59-09.75); earning him a bronze medal at the NCAA Midewest Regional.
