NORMAN, Okla. - Texas State men's and women's track and field wrapped up competition today at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Midwest Regional, hosted by the University of Oklahoma at John Jacobs Field. Kemuel Morales will move on to the national championships next week, after qualifying yesterday in the shot put.

Ikenna Obonna completed the triple jump with a mark of 14.65 meters (48-00.75). Goldstein Okafor wrapped up the meet with a distance of 14.55 meters (47-09).

Valerie Hancock just missed moving on to the national championship, finishing sixth in the women's high jump with a height of 1.74 meters (5-08.50).Katie Evans and Asiya Iskakova both tied for 10th with a height of 1.70 meters (5-07). Iskakova also competed in the triple jump, recording a mark of 12.29 meters (40-04).

Automatic qualification into the National Championships will be declared to the top five declared finishers from each Regional individual event and the top three declared finishers from each regional relay event. The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held from June 10-13 at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark.
