The 2005-2006 year has been an exciting one so far, but it's not over yet.

The Southland Conference Softball Championship is scheduled for May 5-7. Texas State is in the second seed position with plans to win out and represent the SLC in the NCAA Tournament.

Baseball has some critical Southland Conference games over the next two weeks, which will determine their seed for the Southland Conference Championship on May 24-26, 2006.
Outdoor Track & Field is preparing for the Southland Conference Championships to be held in Arlington on May 13-15, followed by the NCAA Regional Championships in Austin and Nationals in Sacramento, California.
On May 13th thirty-one student-athletes will receive rings at the Academic Ring Ceremony. The "Bobcat Athletic Foundation Academic Ring" symbolizes excellence on the playing field, as well as in the classroom. Since the inception of the Ring Ceremony program in 1986, over 700 student-athletes have earned this award.
Coach David Bailiff and his staff are heavily recruiting at Texas high schools for future Bobcats.
Doug Davalos was hired as the head coach for men's basketball. Manny Flores will be returning as an assistant and two new coaches have been hired. They will continue to recruit new players until the signing date, which is May 17th.
Congratulations to Fred Evans and Barrick Nealy! Fred was drafted in the seventh round by the Miami Dolphins, and Barrick signed as a free agent with Minnesota Vikings.

We will update you again next week!
See you at the games -
